Where are all the Men and Women?

Where are all the men and women?
All I see around me are boys and girls.
Where are all the men and women?
There are so few of you left.
The boys and girls of my generation
There’s no substance, no conviction
Their words have no action
They say one thing
Promises mean nothing
I don’t understand the languages they speak
I don’t know how to decode them
What is it that they seek?
Their lips move
But they speak no truth
It’s meaningless
It’s aimless
It’s hopeless
There’s no validity to what they say
I want to go away
Far away
To a place of integrity and honesty
Where are all the men and women?
All I see around me are boys and girls
Where are all the men and women?
There’s so few of you left
What happen to the days
when people kept their words?
All they do now is play games
They all want the perk
But none of them wants to do the work
It seems fame is fame
And it is the destination
But how can I blame?
All around me
people sell their souls
for their five-minutes of fame.
You see,
It’s a shame.
A meaningless effort.
People worship false roles
Like a man on a desert
Reaching for the fountain
Only to realize it’s just a mirage
Where are all the men and women?
All I see around me are boys and girls
Where are all the men and women?
There’s so few of you left
